SUMMER PART1

SORRY GUYZ FOR NEGLECTING MY BLOG FOR SOOOOOOO LONG!!!!! i have'nt gottten to use a cmputer in over a few weeks or i just forget to post on my blog. so Summer for me has been amazing!!! i will start out with the 1st part of my summer vacation. i went to LONDON :)))) JEALOUS MUCH ??? hahaha JK. But was so amazing we saw(if you don't know what i am talkiing about just search those places and it will help) Big Ben, Westministers Abbey, tower of london where we saw the Kohinoor diamonds, London Bridge,Shopped in Picadilly Circus and Oxford Circus, ate fish and chips in Trafalgar square, of course the buckingham palace, the london eye, Shakespears GLOBE, St.Pauls Cathedral, sherlocks holmes museum, and the Kesington place which is about to be the home for Kate and William. :))))) The whole week there was sooo beautiful not just the sightseeing but the weather and the food :)) and i loved taking the tube (or subway) to all the places. i will describe the more interesting places that have stories to go along with them.

When we went to the Buckingham Palace we saw the change of guards which is basically like they are changing their shift. But after the boring ceremony and being smushed we got to see the royal mews. the Royal Mews is where all the carriges and royal horses are put. even though they were justy carriges it was so amazing to see all the design of each carrige up close. we even got to see the coronation carrige which is plated in gold and it is absolutely stunning.

if you don't know the Globe was were Shakespeare held his plays. the not so wealthy people would stand  and the second weltheist would sit near the ground and the wealthies like the queen and kings would sit on the top. the day we went to Shakespeare's Globe was a miracle. when we entered the gate the lady said we couldn't go in with a ticket. then she told us taht the shows were sold out for the rest of the week so we wouldn't be able to watch a show however my mom overheard someone giveing away tickets and those were free and sitting tickets !!!! it was so exciting because we got to see one of my favorite plays Much ado about nothing!!!!!

thats all i'm gonna blog for now !!!!! i will show yall the pics when i get back to TEXAS and describe them in even more deatail luv yall and i'm missing yall too

New book!!!!
i realllly badly want the Throne Of Fire by: Rick Riordan. It is the sequels to The red Pyramid and the second book in the Kane Chronicles series. It has gotten really good reviews and all my friends that have it say that it is also really good. Anther thing i'm trying to persuade my parents to buy is either a nook or kindle. I've have been reading about each and i have decide that i would rather have a NOOK even though they are more expensive you can get more books and adjust the size of the font if it is to small or big. i think this is a really good buy.

Written in Bone examines history through 17th-century bone biographies, including those of colonists teetering on the edge of survival at Jamestown, Virginia, and those living in the wealthy and well-established settlement of St. Mary’s City, Maryland.
The forensic investigation of human skeletons provides intriguing information on people and events of America's past. No other inanimate objects make us feel the same passionate curiosity as the remains of once-living, breathing individuals like us.

the misfits
by: James Howe (author of Bunnicula)
This is a teen novel about a group of twelve year olds at a middle school in a small town in America. These three boys and one girl are going through the normal troubles of the transition between childhood and becoming teens. The four are the usual outcasts found in most schools, and one of their number has decided to take a stand against what she sees as the hypocrisy in her school. Through her determination to put forward her beliefs, she forces her friends to step back and take a look at themselves and each other.
The book is written from the point of view of one of the kids, Bobby, and since the group are all only twelve, The Misfits manages to look at some of the issues facing early teens Some of the issues it touches on with surprising grace are deaths of loved ones, homosexuality and people being more than they seem. It is pleasant to read in that it does not give out the impression of trying to deal with these things; rather it pulls them all together in a light-hearted story, encompassing events and emotions that many people go through. This book really shows what middle school really is about.

The Demon King
Finshed
read for 60min

This book is very adventurous yet romantic at the same time. From all the lone-star books I have read, i  would have to say that This book is my favorite so far. Even though this book tells 2 stories of  princess Raisa and her troubles with the Queendom and the story of Han a villager with his own troubles to worry about.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When Han and Princess Raisa run into each other Han doesn't know who she is. Han takes her captive only to let her free when she does what he wants her to do. Later when she is finally free she is close to her naming day which is when she is able to marry. Even though her mother Queen Marianna wants to marry her  right after the naming day  Princess Raisa refuses to get married at 16. She only wants to marry older. However the Wizards of the high court have different plans he tends to marry his son, Micah to the Princess Heir. To do this he put a spell on the Queen and went agianst all the laws put against the Royal line and the wizard line. I couldn't believe the ending how Han found out he was a ...... ( i wont tell you ) but I could see it coming. It was very sad when the bluejackets lit the house on fire with ....... and (still not going to tell you who was in the house) ........ in it :( What made me extremely sad was when i came to the last page and there was no more.

Yes i am reading this again because I am so in love with itIt starts out with three friends: Jason, Piper, and Leo are all students at the Wilderness School (which is a boarding school). But  there’s a problem because Jason doesn’t remember anything. Who  is he?
One weird thing leads to another.  storm spirits attack them at the Grand Canyon, Jason somehow knows swordplay, and it turns out that their gym coach is actually a satyr. Next thing these three know, they’re being Taken to Camp Halfblood by  Annabeth who expected to find something other than three unclaimed demigods. so they set out to find out who they really are and discover what could have never been. They must find the goddess Hera before Titaness Gaea fully awakes

Ever After Ever
by Jordan Sonnenblick

This book is soooooooo good. I really like it because the author tells the story about this 8th grade boy with Cancer and how he deals with the complications of recovering from Cancer. This is such a cute book and very realistic to children who survive cancer. so far this book talks about this boy who acts like a regular teenage boy. he meets a new girl and befriends her. His friend Tad also survived cancer but that doesn't stop him from being a jerk to other people. Gosh i can't wait to talk to the author of this book because on thursday I will be going to a convention center and i get to meet authors like him :))) I really like this book and it is very heart warming. READ IT !!!!!

HUNGER GAMES THE MOVIE!!!!!\

North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, 1 young girl and boy from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. The televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to Kill  their competitors,  with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the District 12 female representative, Katniss will and won't stop to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will bepitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.
so after you have reviewed the story up top lets get to the big news!
they have finally casted the 3 main parts, Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Melark, and Gale Hawthorn!!!!

Katniss Everdeen is...... JENNIFER LAWRENCE!! For those who don't know who she is,she was nominated for best actress in the movie Winter's Bone which was nominated for tons of other award ceremonies.
Peeta Mellark is.......... Josh Hutcherson!!! I couldn't believe this i don't think he is
Peeta type I mean there could be even better people!!! if you dont know him
he was in the movie Journey to The Center of the Earth, Bridge to Terebithia, and The Kids Are Alright.
Gale Hawthorn is......... Liam Hemosworth!!!!! Another dissapointment  for me :(. He is known for being Miley Cryus' EX boyfriend, Acting in the Last Song,Knowing, and Triangle.

Well all I can really says is that i will be really mad if they screw up this movie. i hopethe actors do a good job.

The face on the Milk Carton

I am reading a book called The Face On The Milk Carton by Caroline Cooney. It is about a girl named Janie who is eating lunch in the cafeteria one day at school. As she is eating, she looks on a milk carton and sees a young girl's face on it. After she stares at it for a while she realizes or she thinks the girl is her, or is it? It said the girl was kidnapped at age three from a mall in New Jersey. Is this possible?
Janie thinks about this all day. She cannot get it out of her mind. Would her parents kidnap her or was it like Sarah-Charlotte said that kidnappings are only when parents get divorced and one parent takes the child somewhere without telling the other parent? Her parents loved her, would they do something like this?
I love the concept of the book and it keeps me really hooked. It is kind of predictable that she will go searching for her birth parents even behind her "parents ' back. she is determined it let them know she is okay.

Incarceron

Incarceron 4/1/11
the whole book
uhhhhhhh........ i'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooo confused!!!!! i mean i can't even tell you what just happened in clear sentences! the only thing i liked about this book was the idea about the whole setting. But the complex story was not entirely as good as the Hunger Games. i mean even Kelsey, Garima ,and Marwa agree with me. i felt that the author wrote it and didn't spend time reading over it. Maybe she didn't look at her writing with a readers perspective and just though that she liked it not anyone else. Hopefully that this is her first book otherwise this career won't be so good for her. She could have given the idea to someone who could make it really good like Suzanne Collins or Margret Peterson Haddix. However what I did like was that she added quotes from the history of the book to show you what happened in the past. A part of me kept read to see if it would get better but when i realized it was not i already reached the end. :(

SPOILER ALER!!!
When Sadie and Carter arefound by the police, The police start to question them about the explosion and how the rosetta stone was in a mllion pieces.(not the software the actual thing!!!!) apparantly the best option instead if putting the children in jail the had to be deported to America to live with their Uknown Uncle Amos. who tells them everything. Like ricks style of writing this books is about the egyptian gods who are real!!! Amos tells the children that their mom and dad were wizards from acient blood lines who knew the gods. apparently Amos owned 2 animal Kufu the Baboon and Philip of Macadonia the Crocodile :)

the next morning when the children wake up in Amos' house they realize he is gone and there are 2 moonsters outside the house. Sadie remembering that amos had told her that Muffin, her cat, would protect them. So when Sadie release the cat, the cat turned int the cat godess BAST!!!!!!!!! that was so cool i couldn't believe that it was actually happening'

The Red Pryamid
By:Rick Riordan

1hr. pg1-65

Carter and Sadie are brother and sister. They see each other only twice  a year. One time in the summer and one time in the winnter.  Since their Mom died Sadie lives in London with their Grandparents. Carter travels around the world with their Dad, a famous Egyptologist. The kids don’t like each other much and the Grandparents don’t really seem to care much for the Dad. I mean, they’re civil, but they only see each other twice year. Mostly, they just get through the visit and move on, waiting it out until the next year.
However, On Christmas Eve Carter and his Dad are in London to spend their one day of the year with Sadie. Dr. Kane takes the kids to the British Museum. Sadie hates whenever Her dad takes them to another muesum instead of aq fun amusement park. What they really haven’t done is watch their Dad get trapped inside a golden sarcophagus after calling from the dead an Egyptian god determined to destroy the world. If i were in Sadie and Carters place I would have been freakng out seeing my father being taking by a GOD!!!!
I can't believe this!!! I love Rick Riordan writing because tis is the genre I love especcially with all the gods.

Hard, Easy, and Just right Poems.

Hard Poem
Amor, Amor
Amor, amor, un hábito vestí
el cual de vuestro paño fue cortado;

de mi razón, por mí no osa mostrarse;
que en tal contradicción no está segura.
-Gracilaso de la Vega

Response: The thing that is hard about this poem is that first of all it is in Spanish. However I only Know a few words of Spanish in this poem because they don't teach us this complex spanish yet. the only thing i get from this is Amor, amor which mean love, love. So now I know that this poem is a love poem so those spanish words mean something sweet, kind, and romantic from a lover.

Easy Poem

It's not too hot
It's not too cold
A perfect day

To have and hold
The sun is out

Clouds are seen
It's still a day
To sit and dream.Ray Hansell

Response: I think this is an easy poem because it describes what the day is just like so you can picture it in your mind immidiatly. it is an easy poem because you know what is happeneing and it makes total sense. Once I read it Once I can get all the meaning out of it.

Just right poem

On a breeze her voice sighs to me
lingering touch and playful swirl
I breath her and she envelopes
playfully touching
lingering laughter
Real and Imagined
Together
Response: I think this is the just right poem because it leaves me wanting more of the peom. It isn't an easy poem  because this takes a few time to read throught o get the whole understanding. Like Ms.Green said that we needed to expand the moment the author of this poem strched this alot. Instead isf saying we were together on the date and explaining the date the author Takes one moment. I like this because it is kind of hard to imagine yet y can pick where you want the poem to be. Everyone has there own thoughts on this poem. i think it fits right into JUST RIGHT.

Beastly By: Alex Flinn
30 min. 1-40
3/1/11

I'm reading Beastly once again. you may be wondering if this is the movie about to come and it is!!!! I love how Alex Flinn writes part of her story in a chat room called THE UNEXPECTED CHAT ROOM. Well in this chat room fairy tale characters are seemed to be real are talking about their problems like silent maid (supposedly Ariel), Froggie (supposedly the frog prince), Grizzly guy (supposedly the bear/wolf thing in Rose Red & Snow White) , and last but never the least BeastNYC ( supposedly the beast in beauty & the beast). BeastNYC  has a real name and its Kyle Kingsbury. He is the main character in the story. This is Definitely the modern day version of Beauty & the Beast.  Hence his chat room name he lives in New York City. He is the most popular guy in school even though he is only in 9th grade. Then his week changes when he meets this goth girl in English who said that Kyle was beastly (not how everyones says your beast, she meant it like you have fangs and fur.) So trying to be funny He asked her to the dance planning to break her heart and that is totally where he made he big mistake.
When he shows up with the prettiest girl in school in his arms He finds  Kendra (the goth girl ) in a butt ugly dress (thats what it said in the book) with no expression on her face like she knew that she was about to get stood up. as he went to the dance not caring about what he saw he realized his 'girlfriend' threw a fit because her corsage was not an orchid but a beautiful white rose. Not bothering to throw it away he gave it to the ticket girl whose name was Linda or Lindy.
From this I learn that you shouldn't say things you don't mean otherwise there will be consequences you don't know exist.
